STOP PRESS:
Comments from students who attended Intensive Revision Classes at a 6th Form College are here
Exam Classes. These are intensive day or half day long classes designed to give a big boost to students’ performance a day or two before the exam. Easter Classes give a boost before that crucial last few weeks of revision & practice. They are tailor made to the syllabus and numbers are restricted to ensure that all get the individual attention that they need.
We are holding the classes in Ruthin. There will be a maximum of 12 students per class.
We also run extra Classes at the request of students - please get in touch if you would like a Class that is not listed here. Also if the time or date is inconvenient, I may be able to accommodate your needs - it’s always worth asking!

What we will cover in the Classes:
Understanding the mathematics or physics underpinning the syllabus - this can be the most effective way of improving performance - we have had dozens of light bulb moments at previous Classes
Gaining an holistic view of the module, the place of the module within the overall qualification and how it links to further study, university courses & jobs. We look at the whole syllabus, linking the various topic areas and questions together in order to boost your understanding as a mathematician or physicist. It is easy to view the exams as a series of unrelated questions - a great way to boost marks is in fact to be clear about the theory that underlies it all.
Knowing about existing variations on questions and possible new twists
Practicing questions: Working on particular areas of the syllabus through past paper questions and using any difficulties that arise to ensure a clear understanding of the relevant area/s.
Using the formula sheet effectively
Tackling the paper with the most efficient exam technique
Checking your work without altering correct answers
Improving students’ range of revision techniques and how to transfer all the skills learnt to other areas of study
